Why convert HEIC to PNG?
HEIC is the type iPhones save photos in, and many programs can't open it. PNG opens everywhere and keeps every detail, so it suits editing and graphics. The files come out larger than JPGs. If you only need to share the photo, the HEIC to JPG page makes smaller JPGs.
How to use it

Questions people ask
When should I choose PNG instead of JPG?
PNG keeps every pixel exactly and is not damaged by being saved over and over, so it suits editing and design work. For sharing, a JPG is smaller.
Why is the PNG so much bigger than my photo?
PNG does not throw any detail away, so a photo saved as PNG is a big file. HEIC is very good at squeezing photos small, which makes the difference larger still. If size matters, use HEIC to JPG instead.
Will the colours change?
The colours should look the same for everyday use. Saving as PNG adds no further loss of detail, unlike JPG.
Can I convert lots of photos at once?
Yes. Drop them all in and use Save all as one zip. A very large batch depends on your computer's memory, so do it in groups if it slows down.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. They are converted on your own device.
